Daniel launched into a field he enjoys more than anything: visual effects. Ten years in, he has covered the production spectrum, from TV ads to TV series and Game Cinematic hits to movies on the big screen. Here are just a few:
Avatar (James Cameron)
Assassin's creed Lineage (Yves Simoneau)
Dragonball Evolution (James Wong)
The Orphan (Jaume Collet-Serra)
Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D (Eric Brevig)
Final Destination 4 (David R. Ellis)
Shorts (Robert Rodrigues)
Fungus the Boogeyman (Stuart Orme)
Meteor and The Mighty Monster Trucks
Alone in the Dark
(Atari)
National Geographic
l'Oreal
...and more. Working as Technical Director and Pipeline Developer on Autodesk Softimage and Maya, Daniel is also fluent in Python, JScript and Mel programming languages.
Daniel Belair is also an experienced self-taught musician. He plays guitar, piano, bass and drums, among other instruments, and sings lead and all background vocals on all his recordings. Be Different was his debut album back in 1998. As well as playing all the instruments after doing all the arrangements, he was the sound engineer - a passion he discovered in the mid 90s. The album’s breakthrough single was The Idiot of Love, which led to a music video directed by Maxime Giroux and produced by Daniel, widely aired on MuchMusic and its sister station, Quebec’s MusiquePlus. The single was also in rotation on several Ontario radio stations and a number of U.S. rock stations.
Zarbie Studio is the result of these passions and expertise. Set up as a philosophically original and multidisciplinary company, it is home to a recording and a graphic design studio. Meticulous and deeply involved, Daniel understands both the visual and musical artistic aspects behind each project. |
